Hello, i have many articles about past events in my site on Joomla. I can't copy all of this to iCagenda, and i want just display events from standard Joomla category.

How can i do that?

Sorry fo my english.

Hello,

There's no link between iCagenda and Articles categories (com_content). There are 2 separated components.

But this is maybe an idea to have an article import inside iCagenda... maybe... B)

Latest version : iCagenda 3.9.8

Ok. I understand you. Thank you!

But If you want do it in future - the best way is something like "online-link" between iCagenda category and Joomla category, and it should work like this:
If you, for example, choose "link category" (or something like that) option in iCagenda config, and then you post some event into joomla category "events", that event also appears into iCagenda category;

And one more question:

What I need do to add additional fields are required when a user regs in to the event? I wish, for example, to make obligatory for filling, for example, ZIP-code and address?

Hi!

About categories, don't think it could be as simpler than that, but maybe i can see in the future a import Joomla categories function... Will check this when i will improve categories management.

For your second question about custom fields, the 3.4.0 version is tested since 4 months by pro users, with this functionnality (and much more!) integrated ;-)

This Sunday, i will release for Pro Users the 3.4.0-rc

And if everything is ok, i will release just before Christmas the 3.4.0 release for all! ;-)

Regards,
Cyril

Yep, being able to automatically make events from a normal article category will be a great addition to this software.

I just set aside Icagenda in a big project because that function is not possible….

Just want to add that it seem possible in other Agenda/Calendar/Events component.

Also you can probably use the Joomla articles setting “Start Publishing Date” — “Finish publishing Date” & “Created Date” for the Time of the events.

This will be a great addition to your system as Joomla article are always the most flexible way to present any type of content (Events or not) and use a familiar interface for the authors.
