Don't forget that with a pro version, you have access to the pro ticket system, which means faster support, and support via admin
About this issue, all depends from which version you have updated.
Due to an issue with older versions when more than one captcha plugins were published, i had to change the options. Unfortunately, to fix this issue, i was not able to migrate all possible settings.
So, could you check the options for captcha plugin in global options (if the good one selected in "General Settings" and if in registration and/or Submit an Event tabs, that the captcha is on show.
