Hello,
In fact, in lastest versions, i have fixed a possible issue with SEO if only a menu to display upcoming events published.
So, to be able to see events in menu, at least one menu item should be able to display this event (depending of date, category and language filters options settings).
Without this new feature, before you could have a menu named "Upcoming Events", and have so a url in SEF like this :
www.site.com/upcoming-events/1-past-event
This was not really nice, so the change is fixing this possible issue, and in the same way, gives a better and more logical SEO (when 'auto' in menu link option is used in the modules)
In 3.6.0, i will change all the views system, so it will be possible to display an event details view, without the need of a menu item published (url like this in this case, when no menu allows to display one event :
www.site.com/component/icagenda/1-past-event).
But now, and in future, it will be always better to have menu settings to allow to display all events (when a user want to dispay all events in modules !).
All you have to do it to create a new menu item to display past events. This one could be in a menu, with a hidden template position, so that not directly visible to your visitors.
Or, in case your menu link to the list of events (set to upcoming events) is named something like this "Events" (and not upcoming events), you can too change the menu link option in the calendar module from 'auto' to the menu item you want to use to display all events.
Hope this helps ?
Best Regards,
Cyril
