[IN DEV.] Front end actions was created by nmron
Hi

Is it possible to edit and existing event, or delete it - from the front end login.

I do not want my users to have back end access.

thanks

Hello,

Not currently (only possible to set ACL permissions in admin to allow access only to edit own events).

But, frontend edition is one of the planned features for the Pro version 3.7, currently in progress.
Info: the testing of the first alpha (not yet with edition) for 3.7 will start in 2/3 weeks, with first the payment and a few registration improvements included. The next alpha versions (all beta versions only accessible for Pro users) will include step by step other improvements.
So, depending of the testing period and results, the 3.7.0 version will be released later (i think around May/June for the stable release).

Best regards,
Cyril

There will only be one user at the front end who will create events. I want that user to be able to cancel (delete) an event or edit the event.

Is this currently possible wuth ACL as you mentioned ?

thanks

Yes, it's possible, but with admin access.

I attach the step by step screenshot, as with Joomla ACL, you can grant access to one user group only to a part of the admin, and so a possibility to set it to allow only "edit own events".

Hope this helps ?

Regards,
Cyril

1. Create Group

2. Set User to this group only

3. Set Joomla configuration global ACL permissions

4. Set iCagenda global options ACL Permissions

5. Set access for module admin menu toolbar

6. Result of control panel when logged-in with this user (don't forget to test it if ok everywhere)

Hope this helps ?

Regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril

that worked nicely thanks.

Only remaining issue I have now is I cant upload a new image for an event, as the choice to use the uploader is not available under this login.

thanks

Oh, yes, for media manager, this user should have ACL permissions too. ;-)

(needs to allow "Create" for media manager)

Hello there,

Count me in for the front end edit option, it see that as a way better solution than creating a separate (special) back end account.
