Many things are planned in the roadmap, and now that iCagenda 4.0 was released, i will soon update it (currently, a bit stuck a few months ago):

About multiple categories per event, this is one of the evolution in my todo list.
About custom fields, some new types will be added in the Pro version, maybe for version 4.1 and/or 4.2
I've planned too, to be able to use a custom field as a frontend filter (if this is what you mean?)
About "radius search for the map", what do you mean?
