[SOLVED] No Event registration EMail was created by huettenwirt

Hello,

i dont want that iCagenda sents out a email every time a register to a event.

Can I disable the email distribution anywhere?

There's no currently option for that, but i will work on registration features in one month, so i will add this option.

Currently, you can do it by editing the file : ROOT/components/com_icagenda/helpers/icmodel.php

In the end of this file, you will find registration function.

To removed email to user, you can remove this line (or add "//" before):

$send = $mailer->Send();

To removed email send to admin and author of the event, you can remove this one (or add "//" before):

$sendadmin = $adminmailer->Send();

Latest version : iCagenda 3.9.8
We recommend every user to keep iCagenda updated.

I couldn't find any other place to post this so I thought i'd reply here.

Whenever I register for an event I get the following error and the registration does not go through at all.

"Your email address does not seem valid, thank you to verify your entry and try again"

is this from your component?

If there is a way to completely disable it checking for email then I would appreciate that very much. I do not need emails sent to either the author or the person registered.

Would this be possible? Im not sure which address its trying to verify, whether its the author or the person registering

So, i will explain the process, as it seems to give some trouble to some user (and i'm working on adding as soon as possible options for this checking)

If an email is entered in the registration form, after submit, i've added a function to check if the provider is available.
This is to forbid email like @kfhdsghdksgbj.skqklsf

So, if you use an email with a correct provider (eg. @gmail.com, @yahoo.fr, @joomlic.com, ...)
The check return true, as the domain exist (has DNS settings)

But for some reason, some users seems to have trouble. So when trouble, i need to have some information : OS server version, php version, and settings of iCagenda (email required, or not, what is the provider (end of email address) used, and all other informations that could be useful!
I will add too an option to unable this function, and will set it as disabled in the futur release to prevent this. So, a user will be able to activate it if he want to had extra security, and so prevent spamming.

Or, as you have a pro account, maybe you can send me an admin access, where i can process test on your website, and see what is the problem! (could be really useful, as no need for you to give me information, as i can check them in administrator ;-)

And for extra information, option about notification email will be added in september, after i've release the RC version with adding event in front-end ;-)

After tests on your website, fix and option will be added in next release 3.1.7
