First, all this is okay!

So, you may have a conflict with an other extension or site template. (or something disabling mootools)

The slide function is using Joomla core slide script, and on Joomla 2.5, using Mootools.
This is were you should investiguate by testing...

Do you have an online link, where to see the problem ?

I think this is due to you site template, but not possible to be sure because of the css compression. (by testing with beez_20 template, this could confirm it!)

Could you first try to disable css compression, as often, if too compressed, this can add display problem.
