404 error after Akeeba Backup was created by Shippy71
Hi

Using Joomla 2.5.11, iCagenda 3.1.2 and hosting on Hostgator.

Icagenda worked absolutely fine on my test site (same server) but on using Akeeba backup to restore the site elsewhere the Menu > Events > List all events returns a 404 error.

I uninstalled iCagenda, cleaned the folders and then reinstalled and the same error returns.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi!

It's just because after your transfert, id of the extension may have changed, and you just have to open and save again your menu-item.
(it is in general the reason of a 404 error after installation of a backup on on other server)

In fact, it should not, but for one reason i still don't know, in some site transfert, the link become unpublished.
But, no need to uninstall iCagenda, just check if link still published ;-)

Latest version : iCagenda 3.9.8

Hi Lyr!C

Sorry but I have followed the advice and this has not worked. The 404 error remains the same.

Do you have an online link ?

Are you using SEF urls ? If yes, is .htaccess in server root folder ?

Yes to both questions.

If you send me an email address then I'll give you a backend login to take a look?

Hi Lyr!c

Here is the link

iCagenda is under the Events tab.

If you can help with this then I fully intend to buy the pro version but I cannot do so until I know it works for my sites.

Thanks, Jon

Ah... definitely a problem somewhere as it's 404 for anything published!

This what i was thinking of ;-)

Maybe try to search by testing different SEF config in joomla. This can be a URL rewriting problems, due to configuration. (maybe htaccess ?) (don't forget for each test, to clean cache of browser, to be sure...)
