BUG 3.2.11? iCAGENDA No Longer Loads was created by neuroscot
Hi
Just updated iCAGENDA to latest version 3.2.11 from 3.2.9 by uploading icagenda_3.2.11.zip file downloaded from your site. Install appears to have worked and can access icagenda backend no problem but when I go to the front end (www.lothianjuniorchess.org.uk) it it stops loading when it gets to the icagenda calender - actually it seems to be in a loop as it keeps trying to load but fails.

When I went back to version 3.2.9 the problem remained. :-(

Running 3.2.1 Joomla.

Cheers
Mike

Hi
Just remembered that I had changed the 'Nb of Columns(full)' option under 'Events' config. options from 3 to 4. Changed back to 3 and all works fine.

Hello Mike, i don't understand where about the number of columns ???

About loading, first, the link attached above is weird as all the site included in a iframe...
Why not using redirection for your domain ?

Then, i recommend to install again 3.2.9, and clear all cache and purge expired files.

And wait until i add an option working for setting visitor timezone (the reason of your problem) and if not possible for next release (3.2.12) i will disable this new feature for all, to prevent such issue... and will wait until i'm able to implement a new working javascript feature to setup visitor timezone.

Thank you!
Lyr!C

Hi
The 'Nb of Columns(full)' is at the very bottom of the screen shown in the attached screen shot.

What I have found is that with v3.2.11 loaded and working, if I then change the columns option to 4 then the calender module fails to load and it appears to keep trying to load. If I clear the cache/expired files it does same thing even if columns set back to 3. I appear to have to re-load version 3.2.9 then reload version 3.2.11 to clear the problem (with clearing of cashe/expired files as appropriate).

By the way after loading either v3.2.11 or .9 the version shown is correct but when I go to the icagenda control panel there is a mismatch on the right handside - see the second attached file for when v .9 loaded.

By the way web site is hosted at a sub-domain of my business domain and the lothianjuniorchess.org.uk is redirected by my ISP to the sub-domain (hosted by same ISP). I am not aware of any IFrames being used, but I am not an expert in these matters!!

Thanks.
Best regards
Mike

Update - done more systematic tests when I realized that I was not clearing the cache after loading v3.2.11. When I do this then the page (link given earlier) never completely loads, getting stuck loading the calender module.

I suspect by changing the 'nb of columns' I was invalidating an item in the cache and this meant the updated (and buggy) file was then used??

There no relation between option for participant list, and your problem in loading.

The problem of loading is due to a rare problem with the new feature to detect visitor Time Zone. (in fact, was working fine on all my tests, and on testing it on other users site, but when released, it seems that some users have this bug problem of loading, so i will released tomorrow a new update with this option disable by default, and with an option in module calendar to enable it and testing if working or giving trouble.

I will see later to work on a better script solution to get visitor Time Zone.

So, install the module calendar attached to this message, it should solve your issue (don't forget to clean all caches after install!!!)

Lyr!C
