[SOLVED] Wrong date is displayed was created by the.snap
Hi there,
first a big thank you for this nice extension!

I am using this extension for some chronicle, i.e. I have created a lot of events where the dates have already passed.

When creating an event where I define a single date, e.g. "1980-10-20", it is displayed correctly in the event list. If I put this date in "Event over a period" (e.g. start="1985-10-20" and end date="1985-10-21"), the date will be displayed as "30 November 1999" in the list of events (in both, backend and frontend).

<Edit>
Just noticed that it is unpredictable when this happens... I now added a menu item in my fresh test install. After that, one of the "single event" dates shows up as "30 November 1999" but one of the others now shows up correctly!

Have a look here: markus.burgtheater-dringenberg.de/joomla...index.php/event-list

The event "Some Event" even does not show a date in the details, but there is one defined as "single date".
<Edit/>

Would be great if it can be fixed.

(Joomla is 3.3.6, iCagenda is 3.3.8, German language packs installed for both)

Hi Cyril,
please find attached 4 screen shots, one for each event from the linked site. Image names refers to event names.
Thanks
Markus

Hello,

This is really weird...

Do you have a protection software of firewall on your website ?

Could you test too, by setting a date format in the options of iCagenda.

Best Regards,
Cyril

Hi again,
well, no, there is nothing special installed as far as I know. It is a simple 1&1 webhosting...
I tried few date formats but it still displays the wrong date in the event list, i.e. 30. Nov. 1999.

I may send you the credentials how to access the admin interface so that you can have a direct look into it. It is a test installation of Joomla, just for the purpose to illustrate this issue ;-)

If I should send you the credentials, kindly let me know where to send them (email), as I did not find a way to send private messages in this forum...

Kind regards
Markus

I just had a look into the database and found the following (see image).

In the events table there is a field "next" which contains the date 1999-11-30. The weird thing is that if I change this value to some other date in the DB and do a reload on the website (Event List), the database gets updated again and afterwards "1999-11-30" is again in the database.

Hi!

Could you attached a screen shot of db with the start and enddate too.

Note that the next date field is generated when saving event, and if it is 1999-11-30, this is due to a wrong formatted date.

Regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,

Please find attached the sql export for the 4 events.

Regarding the next date field, it is not only updated when saving the event but also when the event list in the frontend is loaded/displayed (which in my opinion should not happen).

Regarding wrong formatted date, I entered the dates in the backend and was assuming the dates get verified and are rejected in case they are invalid. I used the "German" backend language settings, probably this had some negative effects?

Markus

Update: Just tested with "English" backend but it also does not work. I also updated the export to contain the new entries as well.

Sorry for slow response.

I have checked your sql file, and i don't see soemthing that could calculate a wrong next date.

What is your php and mysql version ?

Are you on a linux or windows server ?

Does you iCagenda 3.3.8 a new install, or was installed after an update ?

Hello again,

Sorry for slow response.

No issues, just take your time :-)

What is your php and mysql version ?

It was PHP Version 5.4.35 and mysql version 5.

Are you on a linux or windows server ?

It is running on a Linux server.

Does you iCagenda 3.3.8 a new install, or was installed after an update ?

Installation was fresh, no updates were installed, neither for Joomla, nor for iCagenda.

By the way: I tried with php 5.5.19 and 5.6.3 also but no change (I now kept php 5.6.3).

Cheers
Markus
