[ROADMAP] Handeling canceled events was created by CampWest
If you have an event that occurs say every Monday the hole year - and you get one cancellation of the event - how do you handle this.
So far what I have been doing is to split the event into two events so that the end date on the firs is up to the day where the event is canceled and the other event starts after the cancellation date. But this end up in a lot of events. It would be nice if you on your Single Date could state is the event was either canceled or not published (sometime you may not want to show to many cancellations on you list). Could this be a possible tho have such option?

Hello,

In fact, since some time, i'm working on a totally new system for dates management (no more period and single dates, but a single system which will allow more possibilities!).
So, today, it's not possible to exclude (cancel) on date from a all period, but the new system i hope ready for end of year will allow this flexibility (and much more!).

I will update soon the roadmap (by the end of the week) with more info (as i've almost finished the todo list for 3.6.x and 3.7.x).
Just a question : are you on Joomla 2.5 or Joomla 3 ?

Best Regards,
Cyril

I'm still on on Joomla 2.5 - and will be here until the end of year. The plan is to move to version 4.x if possible.

Hi,

Do you mean Joomla 4.x ?
If yes, don't wait Joomla 4, no development started (not a single line) and there will be maybe no version before 2 years...

Joomla 3 will be supported at least for 3 years (2 years after latest minor version which is currently 3.4) and the roadmap is already planned to 3.11 (but with no limit in time today for minor version (second number) ).

I truly recommend to ugrade to Joomla 3, for many reason :
- updates : security, and extensions updates too! (important one)
- Really better Joomla (more options, mobile friendly, more security, and in development with many improvement in all minor versions : developer.joomla.org/cms/roadmap.html
- Some developers already stop to add new features and to maintain version of their extensions for Joomla 2.5 (i understand the reason : less work to maintain compatibility, possibility to use more powerful features of Joomla 3, faster development of new features)
- Maybe the latest version of iCagenda Joomla 2.5 compatible will be 3.6.x (so > 3.7.x and after will be only Joomla 3. So, i will keep only a 3.6.x version compatible with both J2.5 and J3 with bug fixes, to allow users to keep unsing iCagenda on Joomla 2.5, but with no new features (note that 3.6.x is not yet developed and release, so maybe it won't be before 4 months!).

To help you, a useful link with all needed info : magazine.joomla.org/issues/issue-june-20...rade-from-joomla-2-5

Hope this helps about this migration!
In case you have question about it, don't hesitate ;-)

Regards,
Cyril
