Yes, in 3.6.0-alpha1 tested currently by volunteer pro users, its possible to customize registration form for each event (custom field groups new feature).
And for alpha2 almost ready, i'm adding more possibilities, with a full registration refactory, which will allow full control
Not yet possible to give an exact day for delivery as it will depend on testing and bugs to be fixed, but i hope by end of may, or first mid-june. Nothing sure, but i do my best!

About a status for registration (pending, confirmed, cancelled...), it's a feature to be added after in 3.6.x series, so your suggestions for a list of possible status are welcome!
