I have just installed !CAgenda for evaluation. I have created one category and two events. The event show up in the list from the menu but when I click on either of them I get a 404 page not found message. I have looked through the various options but cannot see anything obvious. I can't get out of the starting blocks to check out the product.

I have partially solved this. It is to do with the SEF option. When I turn on just this option I get the 404 error. None of the other SEO options causes a problem.

I have had a problem getting this working with my site. Whatever I do the SEF URLs do not appear. I had already renamed htaccess.txt to .htaccess and it is in the correct directory, but no luck so far. It is working on other domains that I have. I'll continue to look at this but any clues welcome.

Yes, of course the htaccess should be renamed for full SEF to work.
But, if you have the last Joomla version of this file, and well rename it, maybe you have another extension overriding the redirection of urls ?

The way to find why on one site it does work and works on all others, is to search for what is different first, in extensions installed. (and to check too the content of the htaccess).
If it's not the same server (hosting) maybe there a difference between the 2 servers...

Good luck! ;-)

Best Regards,
Cyril

I am experiencing the same problem. I have a menu item that returns upcoming events. Pulls up the list correctly, but when I click on any of the event links I'm getting a 404 error. I've turned off SEF URLs for !Cagenda and am still having this issue. This is a new issue that has only started after updated to 3.5.18.

Hello, if a new issue with 3.5.18, maybe related to the patch security for website on Joomla 2.5.
Maybe you have space in your event aliases, or a third party extensions for sef such as SH404 ?

Are you on Joomla 2.5 or 3 ?

I attached previous version 3.5.17, you can safely install (don't uninstall 3.5.18, just install as if first install, it will automatically update file to go back to 3.5.17) if you are on a Joomla 3 website (which does not need the patch for vulnerability as Joomla 3 already protect against this possible "minor" vulnerability).

A 3.5.19 will be release for a few cases where the patch of 3.5.18 could give trouble.

Keep in touch!
Regards,
Cyril

Joomla 3.5.1. Just installed 3.18 when this happened. I will roll back to 3.17 and wait for the next update.

This may not be the issue that I had, but in case it helps...

I have several domains on the same site. Some of them worked with SEF switched on and some did not. Turning on and off in Joomla made no difference, as did changing the iCalendar settings. I tried various options with deleting .htaccess and re-instating it, then putting in the full, recommended Joomla version or a simpler version. I was still left with some domains that worked and some that did not.

I turned to my ISP for help. They created a new site that worked and found that even they could not clear the problems on some domains. The structure looked identical across all of them.

Then I changed the file structure by putting each domain in its own sub-directory. For the Joomla sites that had the problem I cloned the existing site into its own domain (using Cpanel and Softaculous) with NO .htaccess file. And magically everything worked.

Oh - one more important point. Prior to doing this I unpublished every suspect module or plug in turn to see the effect. It seemed to be the pluginseokeywordsfactory in my case that was causing the problem. After disabling it things worked fine.

Rolling back to 3.17 worked! thanks!!! I tried with SEF turned off and with SEF turned on and both options work.
