1. How do I make the telephone mandatory. It is set to mandatory in the joomla registration but not in the component.

2. How do I change tickets/seats to a different term?

Hello,

1. How do I make the telephone mandatory. It is set to mandatory in the joomla registration but not in the component.

iCagenda event registration form is not using joomla options, but its own options.
You will find options in Global Options of iCagenda component > "Registration" tab ;-)

2. How do I change tickets/seats to a different term?

Just follow how to override language strings in Joomla! with this short video : icagenda.joomlic.com/docs/documentation/...joomla-administrator

A very useful functionnality of Joomla, which will allow you to change the text as you want, without your changes removed after an update ;-)

I found the options for question 1. Thanks. I didn't realize how many options you had built into the software. However there is no asterisk next to telephone after I make it mandatory. I've deleted and cleared all cache in joomla and in my browser. I tried the register and it is not recording as a required field. In other words it's letting me register without a phone number even though on the back end of the component I have it set as mandatory.

2nd: Why doesn't the registration integrate with the joomla registration core? What's the point of this, is there a way to integrate it?

Hi!

Yes, you're right, a bug with default core Phone registration field!

I will work to fix it in 3.6.1.
For now, to have this field required, until 3.6.1 to be released, you can just create a new Custom Field of type "Override: Phone" and set option to required, as this one works (to set this field in proper order in the registration form, you can drag and drop custom fields in Custom fields admin list).

This is a normal behavior for such a system, as it is not a registration on the site (Joomla) but a registration form to events (iCagenda).
In many cases, webmaster does not need or want people to be registered in Joomla as a joomla user, but only to the registration form, which can register non-joomla-users (visitors).
Later i will see to add a functionnality to be able to save a event registrant in joomla as well as with other 3rd party extensions (AcyMailing, CB...) but this will be options.
I don't know yet when i will work on this feature, but not for the next minor version (so maybe not this year).
