Apply for Place button security was created by Brittain
I have setup iCagenda to allow a group of users the ability to register. Those users that have read access to the event get a red button and if they select it they get logged out of Joomla.

And ideas?

Hi!

Could you explain more the details on how you set it, and how to reproduce the issue, as i don't really understand...

Could help :
- group access settings
- registration settings (globals and event registration tab)
- the steps to reproduce the issue.

Thank you!
Regards,
Cyril

Thanks for the reply.

I'm running this site for an Air Cadet unit and have 3 groups. Registered, Cadets and Parents. The Cadets and Parents group is a sub group of registered.

New users are automatically added to registered and then we manual add them to either cadets or parents. The idea being that cadets can register for events but parents can't.

In the options of iCagenda under registrations I set the access to use the group Cadets. When cadets login the "Apply for a Place" button is green and they can use it as you would expect. If parents look at an event, the "Apply for a Place" button is Red and when they select it they get logged out of Joomla.

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

I will try to test with same settings, but don't know yet if an issue with Joomla or my code... (as using the joomla core login system).

But, could you too do a test by changing the options for access not in global options, bu individually by event (in registration tab of event edition).

For example, set registration access to "registered" in global option.
And on the event to be accessible to "cadets" only, set access to "cadets".

Thanks!
Best regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril

I did that test and got the same result. Cadets get the Green "Apply for a Place" button and that works fine however, anyone else gets a Red "Apply for a Place" button and if selected, logs them out of Joomla.

I have attached a screen shot of the Red button as it contains a padlock.

Hello,

I've tried to reproduce the issue, with 2 user groups Cadets and Parents, and by setting 2 Access Levels Cadets and Parents (as in screen shots attached).

I have set access level for registration of one event like this :

But when i click on register button (when logged-in with a Parents access account):

I've got this page :

As you can see, no auto logout, but as it's using Joomla core login system, i am redirected to the login/logout page of joomla (normal in this case, and iCagenda not yet using its own system to manage Joomla access permissions).
But i'm not logged out of Joomla when clicking on "register" button...

Do you have the same screen after click on register with a "Parents" account ?
Or what happens exactly (a screen shot of the page after click on register) ?

Do you use another third-party extension than joomla one to login/logout ?

Best Regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril

Thanks for your time on this. I have my system set-up exactly the same as you however, when a parent try's to apply for a place they get logged out and taken to the default page of the site. They don't get the warning or logout screen and we are not using any 3rd party login/logout extension.

Are you able to hide the button completely to non authorised users?

Andy

Well, with same settings, for me it works.

So, could you do a test with Joomla Protostar site template (as it could be an issue with your site template...)

Cyril
