[SOLVED] addthis not correct was created by WimDC
Hello,

when I want to share an event with the add-this "facebook-button", only the title is correct.
How can I add the image and the description of the event?

Hello,

It's maybe due to caching by Facebook of an old version of the page (URL).

Try the Facebook debugger to find which info are returned for the event url, and if wrong try to reset those information (you could have to reset a few times, or wait a bit to see the good results) : developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/

Hope this helps ?

Best regards,
Cyril

Cyril,

thanks for the quick reply.
After debugging, I already get the right description, but not the right image.

Facebook gives me those warnings :
Warnings That Should Be Fixed
Inferred Property: The 'og:image' property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.
Missing Properties : The following required properties are missing: og:image, fb:app_id

Hello Wim,

First, don't forget to keep your iCagenda up-to-date ;-) (your version is 3.6.6)

About the image, the og:image tag is not set because there's no "event image" set.
The image is in the description.
So, to set this image as the og:image (for now, facebook uses by default the first image found in the page), you have to set the og tag in your description with the image.

So, for this, many extensions could help, the easier would be one (editor plugin or editor itself with this option) to include open graph directly in a content editor description.
I don't know all, and not tested the best way, but i think you can find some on web and/or Joomla extensions directory.

But if you set an image in iCagenda event option, you will have this image set as page open graph image ;-)

Maybe this plugin could work (as event description works with content plugin) : www.phoca.cz/documents/70-phoca-open-gra...images-in-open-graph

Hope this helps ?

Best regards,
Cyril

Cyril,

thanks for the extra explanation, and after adding an event-image, I got the result I wanted!.

VERY GOOD SUPPORT !!

Wim

PS. I installed the pro-version last year with the event list. Will I lose the event-list-module after updating to the recent free version?

Hello,

Great! ;-)

About the module iC Event List, no major changes in 3.6.x series, but it's better to have the latest version of the module to prevent bugs.
So, the pro module will work with a free version until a major change is process to the module (which will be the case in the 3.7.x series for a few improvements, but may still work... for sure, the module event list you have won't work anymore with iCagenda 4.0 planned for next year).

Best regards,
Cyril

Note: don't forget that if you want to upgrade to unlimited (lifetime updates and support), to login before with your pro account, and to use the upgrade button on your pro profil to get the -20% discount for user who has at least by 1 subscription active, or by the past ;-)
