Selection of Event was created by robcey
Hi Team,

To select an event from the calendar, the Event Name needs to be selected.

Is it possible to have either:
The Event Date as the selectable area in addition to the event name
Or
Have the Event row as the selectable area?

Thanks
Rob

Hello Rob,

The Event Date as the selectable area in addition to the event name

Well, not really, because the issue would be if more than 1 event on the selected day.
I have a bit of an idea for some improvements later, with some option of calendar display, but for now not a full good working solution for all cases, and not focused on this development, as currently working on so many other tasks.
But when i will do the module calendar refactory (next year), i will check if some kind of possibility (or mixed behavior) could be introduced ;-)

Have the Event row as the selectable area?

Maybe you have set the "default" theme for calendar module.
Could you test the "ic_rounded" theme in the module calendar options, to see if it is somehow answering your need ?

Best regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,

The Event Date as the selectable area in addition to the event name
ok - understand.

Have the Event row as the selectable area?
The theme in the module calendar options was already set as "ic_rounded" - so unfortunately didn't resolve my question?

Regards
Rob

Hello,

Do you have an online link to your site ?

And, do you use the latest version of iCagenda (3.6.12) ?

Note: in fact, i did already the change for default theme about module, and full row click in the tooltip, so no difference about what i talked about first) ;-)

Regards, Cyril

Hello,

Sorry, i was confused by "To select an event from the calendar" but in fact you didn't mean the module calendar as i thought but the main list of events ?
I realize thanks to your link...

I am right ?

If yes, so if you want to do this, you will need to create a custom theme pack, and edit the [theme]_events.php file with the needed changed about html a href...

For this, of course you need to have a minimum of html/php knowledge... do you ?

Best regards,
Cyril

Note: with ic_rounded theme, you have an additional click on the date box, so maybe do a test with the "ic_rounded" theme to see if it could answer better what you would like ?

Regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,

I have some experience with php, html and programming so will see how I go.

If I mess it up, I might ask a question - if you don't mind.

Thanks
Rob

Hi Cyril,
Sorry to bring this back up after so long. The customer has brought this up again after I thopugh they were ok with it - but it seems they aren't still.

I had a look at the file you suggested but I've been out of coding for too long.

I would greatly appreciate if you could help ching the selection from the "Header" in the event to the box with the date and time - or perhaps having both the Header and the Event date and time?

Thanks
Rob
