Is there a way to make sure that all event descriptions follow the very same font size and type?

Hello,
If you mean that user are not formatting the text font-size and type, you can manage it with editor settings you use, to disable the font-size and type options.
One useful editor is JCE where you can manage editor profiles and buttons used.
