Hi everybody,
Joomla 4.4.10 / iCagenda 3.9.8
Update 19.1.25: Joomla updated to 5.2.3 / iCagenda 3.9.8 / PHP 8.2.7 => but still same behaviour
I've defined some custom fields. These fields are shown in the registration form as expected.
I'd like to include the custom fields in the confirmation mail but these fields are not sent.
Part of the confirmation email:
Name: [NAME]
Anzahl Tickets/Plätze: [PLACES]
[CUSTOMFIELDS]
Notizen: [NOTES]
In the (custom defined) confirmation email the registrant never receives the content of the custom fields but all content of the other fields.
I've also tried a standard email but it didn't work too.
How can I fix that?
Thanks in advance
Beat

Hello,
I've tested on my side, and no issue. The custom fields are displayed in both user and admin emails after registration.
So, did you test by turning on error reporting and debug mode on "on"?
As it could maybe returns some error with information about what could happen.
Add could you add screenshots of the custom fields edition (each one use on the registration form) to see if it could be due to one issue on one of them?
Best regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,
I just figured out that I made a mistake in thinking.
I added a custom field to the event form for payment information ... and expected this custom field to be sent in the confirmation email to the registrant so all information is in the email.
But now I understand that only custom fields from the registration form are sent in the confirmation emails.
Solution will be, that the registrant has to click on the link in the email to go back to the event to see the payment info.
Thanks and best regards
Beat

Hi,
Googled around a bit and found in change description from version 3.8.14: "Changed : Improve Custom field individual handler for tag in user email notification for registration. Use [CUSTOMFIELD:slug] to get a custom field value from its slug for Registration and Event custom fields."
Now I can include a custom field from the event description in the email to the registrant - exactly what I originally wanted to do (in my case I use the alias of the field for slug)
Hope this may help other users too.
Best regards
Beat

Hi!
I thought at first that it was about the registration form custom fields...
Yes, only registration form as parent are displayed in custom fields for registration notification (i will see for 4.x serie to add possibility for event custom field to be added as well as information) when using the default global tag [CUSTOMFIELDS].
About the [CUSTOMFIELD:slug] tag, it is true i don't have it well documented yet (i built the new site in 2024, and will work on a full new documentation this year).
Have a great day!
Best regards,
Cyril
