[VIEWED] Copying Events was created by triage
Hi all,
Is there a way of copying all the events from one site to another? I have created one site and have filled icagenda with a full list of events. On another site I need the same list of events. Is there a way of just copying them or do I have to input every single event again?

Thank you for your time

Currently, there's no function for that.

But, what you can do, if phpadmin access, and if you know a little how to use it :

Install iCagenda on your new site with no data
Export icagenda tables database
Copy/paste in image folder, all the files for images and attached file used by iCagenda, to the new website (in order not to have blanck picture for events)
Then, via phpadmin of the new website, insert the database exported from other website.
If you have set global options, you can copy/paste params field from old site, to params field of iCagenda in #__extensions of the new website.

But, if you have only a little number of events, could be less risked to create again the events.

Until end of 2013, i'm working on main feature for iCagenda to be implemented, but in 2014, i will work on extra feature such as export/import ;-)

Latest version : iCagenda 3.9.8
We recommend every user to keep iCagenda updated.

Thank you for your very quick and comprehensive response. I will not risk the database copying as I am not that knowledgeable. But thank you very much for the advice. I will look forward to the possibility of an import/export function next year perhaps :)

Hi,

If you answer to a topic opened 5 months ago, and don't give more information, how could someone help you or answer ?

What do you mean by you question ?

If it is to duplicate an event inside iCagenda, yes it is already possible, when in edit event view, in admin, with core button "save as copy"

If you mean a transfert of events (data) from one extension to an other, which one ?

If you mean transfert some events to an iCagenda installed in another website, this is a feature planned in my todo list, but its developpement won't be done before some months, as already many other major developpements in process.

So, what does your question mean ?

Is there a way to copy and activate one event?
