Hi all
Would like to know if it is possible to limit access to categories and events created by a given user. I mean we are using icalendar in our site, but have two different departments creating events, however we would like to restrict the access to the categories and events each of the departments create.
Is this possible in i-Calendar (even if it is in PRO).
Thanks a lot

Currently, there's no access level for category, but there is for events.
Could you explain by an example what you want, as it is maybe possible, but this could be a problem of settings

Hi!
Thanks a lot for the answer. In our site (Joomla 2.5) we have three departments managing the web Administration, Communication and Local, each of them has a section in the site and they keep and maintain the content of each of their section.
We would like to add a calendar in each of their sections, and we know that we can do that in iCalendaar by creating three categories, and then add three iCalendar modules pointing to each of those iCalendar categories.
Problem comes at the administration of the events and categories, we would like for the users of each department to be able only to manage (create/edit/remove) the events of their category and also if possible to see just their category in the iCalendar category view. I mean in the administration and maintenance of the Component in the Joomla Backoffice.
Is this possible somehow?? Thanks a lot!.

Oh, yes, i understand...
Your need is an insterresting idea, but i'm sorry this not currently possible.
I'm not currently working on ACL, but i will by the end of the year. When i will work on enhancements of ACL, i will take consideration of your remarks, and will work on permissions on categories.
Today, the only thing you can do is to set permission edit own for the the user groups, but a user only will be able to edit his own events...

Thanks a lot, with the Edit own I think it will be ok. Also I will check from time to time your site as the feature to allow ACL to Categories is also great!.
Thanks once more

What you can do is to follow this important topic: the roadmap,
www.joomlic.com/forum/icagenda-announcem...e-in-future-versions
You will see currently this:
ACL integration > Done for events: RELEASE 2.1 (global admin, with edit own)
I edit this post when i've finished a new feature, and when i'm working on a new one!

Hi there
Sorry for reopening the topic again. I think we have configured the permissions of the component the way you mention (or at least we understood
). However when the user of the group is trying to create a new event, the screen does not show anything....
Could you please review the pdf with the screenshots to check if the configuration is ok?
Thanks

Hi there
The hierarchy is Public->Registered->MyGroup
The configuration you saw is the one for "MyGroup", Public and Registered have everything set to "Inherit" -"NotAllowed"...
It is strange as what it happens is that when you click on New, the screen gets totally "disabled" and you just can browse over the links of the items (Category, Events...) but no editor to create new event is shown....
Any suggestion?
Thanks
