[SOLVED] Module not working was created by gany
I'm working on a site, but the Icagenda module is not working. I can't go to other months. The site is here: 50.22.35.188/~nvthc/nvthc/

Any idea what might be wrong?

Hi!

The problem is due to your extension jfbalbum loading without testing (not good) the jQuery Librairie.
So, as already loaded, this is creating a first problem of conflict.

The second problem is that it is loading an old version of jQuery version 1.7
iCagenda is using the version of jQuery set in Joomla 3, which is 1.8

So, you can search if an update exists for jfbalbum with an upgrade of jQuery version, and/or install jQuery Easy plugin, able it, and load jQuery 1.8 from the plugin (this could solve multi-loading of jQuery)

Latest version : iCagenda 3.9.8
We recommend every user to keep iCagenda updated.
Don't forget to have your Joomla!™ up-to-date!

Sorry for my late reply to your very fast answer. I was sick.

I'm trying all of your solutions, but not much luck so far. Today I installed the latest version of ICagenda manually, uninstalled the module, and installed it again. Problem remains. Same for the JQuery plugin: I installed it, but so far: no go.

Hi!

Have a look at the global configuration of joomla about cache. If set to "progressive" not good when dynamic content in module. Try better conservative.

If it's not the problem, you have to check each extension (template too!) to see from which comes the conflict... Good luck!!! ;)

Well... if mo(hammed) doesn't want to go to the mountain, the mountain gotta go to him. :pinch:

I only used the latest components and modules, so the 1.7 version problem is all his. I can't use the calendar module in 3.1, it simply doesn't work. So I don't. The calendar component works fine, but you have to fully uninstall everything before upgrade and manually reinstall all the data. So that's what I did. Until Lyr!C fixes the 1.7 problem, I can't use the module.

If you use page-peel and/or facebook/twitter sliders: not on the same page as the Icagenda component. Jquery doesn't work on all three of them. The agenda will work, but the other two appear frozen. So I don't use page-peel and facebook sliders on those pages. I had a site where ICagenda was the featured page, so we redesigned the frontpage to something else.

So far, I could get away with it. The owners liked Icagenda and were willing to accept modifications. But it is something you have to consider for future projects. Other owners may not be as understanding.

Thanks to have answer to Raad, really appreciated.

For information, i won't work on a compatibility with jQuery 1.7, as jQuery 1.7 is an outdated version of the librairie!
So why working to be compatible with a too old version of jQuery ? (Joomla 3 is using 1.8, this is for some good reasons!)

It is the work of the developper of those extensions to upgrade their code, not mine ;-)

@Raad:
Your site template is loading an old version of jQuery (/templates/dd_kidsschool_23/js/jquery-1.6.1.min.js), but this could may be solved by using jQuery Easy plugin.

So try to install jQuery Easy : extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-en...jquery-scripts/18327

activate it, and select load jQuery from the plugin, version 1.8 (for frontend), i think this could solve the issue.

But try to see too, if your site template is updated ;-)

Thanks for your respond.
I installed jQuery Easy plugin but it only makes problems with slider which apperars frozen. ICagenda calender module doesn't work either. I give up and propably have to change icagenda component to some other working with my tymplate.
J know that is not a subject of the forum but if J may ask Lyr!C. How to check what version of jQuery template is loading.
Next time J'd choosen a template compatibile with icagenda.

:-(

You can know which script files are loaded by having a look at the code generated by your website (in general, right click, and display code)

Sometimes, you can just edit the index.php of a site template, to change version of jQuery, and it is often not disturbing the behaviour (but not always working)
