[VIEWED] Missing some features a été créé par trogladyte

Looks good and has some nice touches, but it's limited for serious use. This may sound harsh given it's a free extension, but they are really basic items that are missing.

It needs:

1. More options for frontend editing - can't even add a category or change an existing one's color, or delete an event

2. Search - Joomla search is totally inadequate for this type of application

3. Venues and other regular info should be saved to be reused. Making the editor re-enter the same info again and again is not using the computer properly. If a user types in the venue name, the address should self-populate.

Thanks for the extension - it shows real promise and, again, I do appreciate that it's being made available free of charge - thanks.

Don't hesitate to check the roadmap, as i'm working on many features! : www.icagenda.com/docs/roadmap

About 1 :
There's no today frontend edition! It's just a submission form, which has not the same purpose.
When major developpements in process will be done (more advance registration system, custom fields, repeating dates...) i will see to developpe a frontend edit system, but maybe only in Pro version (to keep some advanced features for Pro User ;-)

This developpement is not yet planned, but i won't be able to begin it before end of this summer.

About 2 :
As the main structure is currently in a new coding developpement, i wait this finnished to create a filter search system for iCagenda (planned for end summer/ end of year if everything goes okay!) ;-)

About 3 :
This is exactly a feature i have already begun the developpement! Not yet finished, and not today possible to officially implemented it. A summer project! ;-)

Hi there!
I searched the roadmap to find out, if the feature "save venues" will be implemented in version 3.40. But i didn't find it.
This feature would be really nice.

Judging from the roadmap, the developer of the component has indeed made some serious effort over the last year. Well done and keep up the nice work. :-)

However I will have to agree with the previous comments regarding the necessity of an extended functionality of venues. Apart from the ability to save the venues in a seperate table, it should also be possible to somehow sort the events by venue. Or even make a module which will be loading all the events taking place on a specific venue.

It will be great to see these functions implemented.

And thank you all! (for patience, and comprehension!)

Yes, a venue management is in the todo list. To be honest, i won't be able to accomplish this feature this year (yes!... only 3 months left... :pinch:

) as already "too" much things and improvements in the box!

And as Johnny said, many things done in 2 years, and of course the same and more will be done in the future!
