That is great.
Only reason for asking is that when you click download from Joomla extensions you get a pop up messages saying 'please note, this extension inserts backlinks to the developer and may impact on SEO'.
Thanks
Kind regards
Lene
Thank you for this feedback, didn't notice that this was added to the JED.
THis message is not really clear, and is now displayed for many extensions with a "powered" or copyright link...
About what is this backlink, following all the rules of the JED (not hidden, not encrypted, secured...) you can have the info here :
extensions.joomla.org/support/knowledgebase/item/backlinks
About extensions, many popular one have a similar backlink: Kunena, Phoca, Falang...
And there's no impact on SEO (only the word and url could be added in your search key, but it's not a bad impact, as you could see if you test your site with a seo tool, it's good!)
By experience, on this website where you post, i'm using Kunena forum since 3 years.
And with the Kunena backlink at the bottom.
I've noticed no impact on my seo
I all cases, i have contacted the JED team, to give them your feedback, and maybe think about changing a little this message to be clear, and informative. (for example, some people don't know what is the "backlink". In fact, it just an external url, and in iCagenda, it is the "Powered by iCagenda".
As an evidence, with pro version, you can remove the signature at the bottom of iCagenda
Hope this gived you more clear information!
Regards,
Cyril
