Inserting an event in multiple languages a été créé par bdonner
Hi, we are using Joomla 4 and Falang for our multi-language website.

We want to use !Cagenda for allowing organisations to add events to an event calendar. We live in a bi-lingual country, the events are usually run in two languages, and our website is in four languages. Thus, we would need it to be possible for the organisations to add their events in as many languages as thety want (1-4). When adding events, other multilingual event components we have used usually put the languagee fields in columns beside eachother (Name: ____________ Nom:_________ ...) but what is !Cagendas system letting people add multilingual information? I only see the option to go and translate an event with falang, but this would scare off any event adders and cannot be the right way?!

Thanks,
Ben

Hello Ben,

I don't really see what is your issue ?...

Falang is used (with iCagenda xml files) to translate content (data).
The labels of the fields are generated byt the translation packs.

So, do you have installed all iCagenda translation packs, for the 4 languages you use ? icagenda.joomlic.com/resources/translations

Best Regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril, Falang&!Cagenda do work technically for me, my question is: Is it so that a user who adds an event in three languages has to first create the event in the site language, then go to different languages and create translations of the event language after language? Or does it somehow work more fluently, so that the user who adds an event can add the titles, descriptions, locations in all languages on the same page? This latter saves the user a lot of work in comparition with a system, where you have to navigate from language to language in order to do the translations.

Cheers,
Ben

Ok, i understand! ;-)

Unfortunately, i don't think Falang could allow such inline translation directly in a frontend form ?... (or i don't know yet a new feature of Falang...)
