we would like to start with the list of events immediately after the banner!

This is to be managed site template side

So, all depends how is coded your site template (about responsive grid) and/or if a module position allow this (some site templates use device detection script to display some module position in a different place depending on the device visiting the site).

In all cases, nothing any extension (module) could manage as it is a site template task
