[Joomla 3.5.1 bug: SOLVED until Joomla 3.5.2] No registration email notification was sent!

I've done 3 tests, and the 3 tests works!!!
But, 2 notification emails on 3 came to my spam box.
Maybe due to the hotmail adress used as Joomla config email, which is not often well considered..

But for me, all is good on your website about emails... ;-)

I am not getting any emails sent out, which I believe to be linked to this issue.
I am also getting a "0 - Invalid address: " error displayed to everyone who attempts to register for an event, after they click register. (although their registration for the event is still working).
This is still the case if email sending is turned on or off.
Could my 0 - Invalid address: issue be linked to the email problem at a guess? If not any ballpark ideas what might be causing this?

If the advice is to install the dev patch from earlier in the thread, do I just install this as I would any normal component?

Hi!

Yes, many explanation already is this topic...
As well as in link (akeeba site link is a good sum-up od all issues of the Joomla 3.5.1 release...)

About the dev attached earlier, yes install the last one i've posted as an extension, it will automatically update your iCagenda.
This one include a few checks and controls which should have been done by Joomla Mail API.
Some more will be added for a 3.5.17 release tomorrow, but the last one attached may already solve the registration notification emails issue.

But too, check if Joomla global configuration email for site is working (there's a test button for this), and in iCagenda Global Options, if you're using the custom emails list (comme separated list) check if all emails are good.

The additional check i add is to control each email addresses (Joomla users, registered users, custom list of emails, creator's email, author's email...) to be sure each one is valid, and to remove not-valid ones.
If Joomla 3.5.1 fails when sending email, it means at least one error, and all is broken and fails...
Another issue with Joomla 3.5.1 change, is a missing good addition of the optional "addReplyTo" in a mail, which is meant to be automatically set if empty (this is an issue only on some server, depending of the version of your PHPmailer).

In all cases, tomorrow a 3.5.17 version with patches (as best as i can) to fix issues and not have to wait a Joomla 3.5.2 with fixes or changes revert (i hope)...

So just now, install the last dev attached! ;-) (3.5.17-dev2)

I solved the prolem using different email address. (hotmail was also blocked from hotmaill!!!)

This is maybe due to the "known-spam" effect of hotmail, and they are blocking site mailing or blocking some specific words coming from hotmail sender... ;-)

In all cases, i don't recommend Hotmail as sender email ;-)

Thanks for feedback!

Note that patches are currently on testing to solve mail issues with Joomla 3.5.1, so for sure some fixes in Joomla 3.5.2

In all cases, the 3.5.17 patches will be useful in case Joomla API fail again in the future ;-)

Hello,
When user register in my website. The user response email is working, But only the admin email notification is not working.

I have tried with joomla 3.5.0 /bza/libraries/joomla/mail/mail.php but still not working.

Can you please let me know where i did the mistake..?

NOTE: I am using normal joomla registration forms with for events i am using JEvents.

Can any one please help me. How to fix this issue. I did not notice this issue in 3.5.1 otherwise i would not update my site.

Hello Vicky, do you mean you're not using iCagenda but JEvents ?...
If yes, maybe better ask to JEvents developer... ?... :-|

In all cases, transfert again the libraries/joomla/mail/mail.php from Joomla 3.5.1 (to replace the 3.5.0 one you have juste transfered) and just edit the line 69, where you replace "true" by "false".

If still an issue, so check your settings :
- no empty email subject, no wrong email, no missing information in your mail settings.. (if using iCagenda, and custom emails, be sure the subject of mail is not the "placeholder", which means empty... test with default email to be sure issue is not in yoru custom emails.)
- check if global configuration email test email is working (button under the email settings for the site).
