Why is there not an option to not show past dates in the calendar module?
Is there a way to turn off past dates for the calendar module or set the filtering like for the menu-item category display?

Yes, you're right, this could be an option too!
I won't be able to integrate it today, but will add it to my roadmap, as iCagenda is currently in a full code refactory!
