Thank you, Ciryl,
I’ve been a Pro user for many years now.
The update that allows you to attach multiple files is particularly important, not only for uploading files relating to a future event, but above all for making the documentation available once the event has finished (PDFs, PPTs, etc.)

Hi Enrico,

Oh yes, that's an old topic! It seems i didn't work on it yet after all this time... so thank you for the reminder!
I will put it higher in my todo list.

Can't tell you yet exactly when i will integrate this new custom field (or extended option for attachment options) but it could be only in the pro version (i don't know yet, but i try to keep advanced features for the pro version, that helps a lot the development...)

But for sure, i want to add new custom fields this year, and some extended options, as i've already started in 2026 with new pro options for custom fields access in frontend and display in list of participants.

Best regards,
Cyril

Hi Cyril,
is there a way to add multiple attachments to an iCagenda event?
I haven’t been able to find anything about this on the forum, apart from the same query in a thread from over ten years ago (forum.joomlic.com/icagenda-help-en/2911-...tachment-to-an-event).

Thanks

CVE-2026-48939

Thanks for your swift response and confirming 'my' ancient version is not vulnerable.

I'm still somehow confused as www.icagenda.com/docs/changelog/icagenda-3-9-15 mentions 3.9.15 is Joomla! 3 Security Release, so I would expect earlier versions are vulnerable.

Can you clarify on this? Thanks!

I asked the original web developer but he couldn't remember to have bought this plugin (indeed 10 years ago).

Kind regards,
Kris

Risposta da Lyr!C al topic CVE-2026-48939

CVE-2026-48939

Categoria: iCagenda - English

Hello Kris,

First, your iCagenda installation on your Joomla 3 is "safe": it has no critical security issue (but your Joomla 3 installation is maybe not so safe as end of life...).

Only Joomla 6 from 6.0.0 to 6.1.1 has a critical security issue on attachment uploads (this is fixed in Joomla 6.1.2).

That means iCagenda running on all older versions prior to Joomla 6 (and all J6 version since 6.1.2) don't have a critical vulnerability.

The only common issue is the possibility to submit a not-approved event in guest access. The result is "fake" event added to the list of events, not visible on public frontend, but in admin, and with no possibility to exploit it.
So, more annoying than anything.

About your pro version, the version 3.6.6 is really old. If you don't have anymore an active pro subscription, so you can't update to pro.
If you want to install the free version over a pro version, then you will have first to remove the pro module (iC Event List) and the pro plugins, as it's using old code from 3.6.6 (December 2016... 10 years ago) may not run with component code from 2026...
This is like installing a core component of Joomla 6 on a Joomla 3 site, it will crash.

Another solution, if you want to keep the pro feature of iCagenda Pro, is to renew your subscription... ;-)

Best regards,
Cyril

Alignment of months in Calendar card drop-down

Categoria: iCagenda - English

Another question that might be on interest to other users (or who might already have a solution and can therefore point me in the right direction).
I am currently doing some User Aceeptance Testing of the new website I'm building, which incorporates a Calendar of Events using the iCagenda extension. Everyone is very positive about it, and I have created some 'Event Managers' who have the ability to create and edit events from the 'front end'.
One of the comments, however, came from one of the testers, who asked why, in the Calendar drop-down for months, the month names are right-aligned, and whether they could be centred (like the year spinner) or left aligned. Again, this is something that may be beyond my limited PHP and CSS programming skills, so I'd be interested to know:
1. If I can update the month dropdown to be left aligned/centred?
2. How to go about it? (again, do I need some code override in mod_icagenda_calendar  or elsewhere?)
Thanks

Creating 'front end access' to event management

Categoria: iCagenda - English

Apologies for the very noobie basic question, but I can't see anything regarding it, either in the forum/documentation or in the Joomla extension itself. I have just bought a lifetime licence of iCagenda for the website I'm building for our non-profit Egyptology Society, over in Canada. That society has a number of 'Chapters' in various Canadian cities that set up, organise and control their own events. I had set up categories for each type and location of event in the initial free version of iCagenda (and I have used iCagenda in its free version for a number of years in the society's previous website (thessea.org)), but one purpose for getting the Pro version was to enable the individual Chapters to designate their own 'event manager' who could enter and edit their own events from the front end of the website without having to go into the back-end administrator side of the website, or having to go to a central administrator to add the events from the back end. I have looked and looked in the forums, website, etc., but I cannot see any information as to how I can get that to happen. So how do I create access for an 'event manager' to update the events list from the front, please? I will be creating a specific user role for 'Event Manager'. At present, if I log in to the front end as 'super admin' I can only see editing buttons for the calendar and a category menu modules.
I have seen that there may be a form required. Is this something that is available to download or is it something I have to build myself?
I am using Jooma 6.0.3 with a Gantry 5 template layout manager in our 'new' website.
Thanks for any pointers

ICAgenda Professional licence durations

Categoria: iCagenda - English

Hello,

And thank you for your message. Great to hear that you have planned to upgrade to J6.
Joomla has evolved a lot since Joomla 4, and you may really like it.

About iCagenda, 1 year and lifetime pro subscriptions have exactly the same functionnalities.
The difference is the time for updates and pro ticket support access.

About the usage, there's no limit. If you have an expired one year subscription, you will still be able to use all pro features.
Just that if subscription is expired, you won't have access to advanced pro support and won't be able to update iCagenda Pro.

Did i answer correctly your questions?

Best regards,
Cyril

ICAgenda Professional licence durations

Categoria: iCagenda - English

We have successfully used the ICAgenda Free version on our current Joomla v3 site (www.thessea.org - an academic, non-profit Egyptology organisation based in  Canada) for some 4 years now, and as we are planning to upgrade and migrate the website to Joomla v6+, I have looked again at our ICAgenda extension. One possbility we are considering is giving specific members of our team access to enable them to create events for specific 'Chapters' (ie locations our meetings), via the front end of the new site, so that they themselves can maintain calendars of events for their chapter. For that, I understand that we would need to invest in the Professional version of the extension, which is no problem as far as I'm concerned. I notice that the length of the basic Professional Plan lasts for 12 months of support and updates. There is also a Lifetime plan of updates and support at four times the cost of the basic Professional plan. I therefore would like to know if we were to purchase a basic Professional 12month plan, would we still be able to have the functionality of front end event creation, and custom modules available for our new site after the 12 months has finished, or do they expire when the 12 month plan has expired. I understand, of course, that there would be no further support or updates after that event.
Thanks

Using my customized calendar design template in 4.02

Categoria: iCagenda - English

Hello,

Due to significantly improved performance and a modern, accessible interface, I decided not to delay the release of version 4.0 any further (it took me already more time than expected previously).

However, not all planned features are yet integrated, and also because I plan to overhaul the entire theme pack system.

That's why I haven't removed the old calendar module, so that users who were using it with a custom theme can still use it while waiting to replicate their customizations in the new calendar module.

So, this is a transitional phase.

But if you did it all with Custom CSS and custom layout, as the HTML structure is full new, you may have to redo it again, when layout for new calendar will be available in the upcoming theme pack system.

I understand that this will take time for those who have customized iCagenda, and I apologize for that.

But the calendar module hadn't been updated structurally in 10 years, and in today's web landscape, with AI bots overloading websites with requests, it was time to modernize everything. The goal is a more efficient system, better for SEO, and more stable for your website.

Hope this gives you more insights on the major changes and the future of iCagenda. My goal remains to develop iCagenda and offer the best for its users.

Thank you for your trust and for using iCagenda!
Best regards,
Cyril

[SOLVED] Error "Call to undefined method WebiC\Component\..."

Categoria: iCagenda - English

Hello!

I have been using iCagenda (free version) for several years now and I am very satisfied with it. Today, I tried to edit an existing event, but I received the following error message when saving: 'Call to undefined method WebiC\Component\iCagenda\Administrator\Table\EventTable::getDatabase()'. I get the same error message when trying to create a new event. Everything has worked without any problems until now.

Joomla version: 4.4.14 // iCagenda version: 4.0.1

Is there a fix for this error?

Thank you,
Manfred

Hello Marten,

And Happy New Year!

Many things are planned in the roadmap, and now that iCagenda 4.0 was released, i will soon update it (currently, a bit stuck a few months ago): www.icagenda.com/docs/roadmap

About multiple categories per event, this is one of the evolution in my todo list.
About custom fields, some new types will be added in the Pro version, maybe for version 4.1 and/or 4.2

I've planned too, to be able to use a custom field as a frontend filter (if this is what you mean?)

About "radius search for the map", what do you mean?

Best regards,
Cyril

Hi there an a happy new year,
I'm currently searching all Joomla event planners for functionality. And some scripts can do something well but not all of them can do everything well ;-)

What would be really cool and what I miss in iCagenda :

Category and Custom Fields with option = multiple
Adding/Removing Custom Fields to search
Radius search for the map

Any plans to incorporate something like this?
