I don't really understand your problem ? If you have change core files, it is normal that files are overwritten by an update... You have just to redo the edit.

About custom fields, it is already in the roadmap, but it's not currently in developpement. (i'm already working on major functions about dates, taking a lot of time in developpement. When done, i will begin custom fields system )

very easy to use, BUT... i think you should have a "comments feature", not everyone likes to share comments with FB profile and it could be one obstacle to comment.

some important missing features:

- Sub-Categories (very useful to catalog events)
- Comments (in events list and detail)
- Event News subscribe (subscribe option increase the relation with the site)
- Custom Fields in detail Events

still it's a great job you are doing.

As i'm alone to developpe, not easy to test all possibilities, and developpe all functionnalities. I have to make choice in priority!

Alle you wishes are already in the roadmap.
About comments, i think of a plugin using jComments (no need to use facebook, and as this extension is already well done, i prefer to take time to developpe iCagenda missing features. And time is important!)

So, i will see to create the plugin for jComments before end of February.

Today, i'm having problems in developping the repeat date function, a more difficult developpement than i thought it was... But i work hard on it, and want to make it working as soon as possible!
Just when done, i will work on a custom fields system, to able user to add fields to edit form, but to registration form too!

Just search and override the string(s) :

COM_ICAGENDA_EVENT_LIST_OF_PARTICIPANTS = "List of Participants"
COM_ICAGENDA_NO_REGISTRATION = "No Participant"
